Greetings all.
I have a '99 Honda Passport (Isuzu Rodeo). I have two error codes coming up on EGR. P0402 and P1404 (excessive gas flow and valve stuck).

This is a relatively new EGR, only about 4 months old. I had been having problems with it late last year and replaced it. That didn't actually fix the problem, and I wound up taking it to a mechanic who cleaned it and the throttle body because I was having idle problems at the time as well. At the time I was getting a mass flow EGR error.
Those problems disappeared after the cleaning etc...
Now I am getting new EGR errors, the P0402 and P1404 errors according to Auto Zone's code scanners.

Again, I took the EGR off and cleaned it out per the numerous postings on the site. I used carb cleaner The CEL remains on, so I assume the problem persists. The vehicle seems to be running just a tad rough at times, though it is barely noticable. I am unsure if it is related or not.

Any suggestions for the next step?

Did you clean the EGR tube behind the throttle body?

Not yet. I will give that a try in next day or so.
Thx.

Also, try spraying the EGR tube while the truck is running, may need to use half can or more - plug the bigger hole though. Your truck may die while doing this, so you may need to keep the idle up just a bit.
