Looking at this car, but I haven't ever really done any research on pricing of classics. Anyone know of a place that I can get an estimate or something? Also if anyone knows off the top of their heads, I thought that Mach 1s came with 351s or 428/429, but this one is listed as a 302...

Eleanor!

It's clean minus the red interior... that's REALLY red... wow.

Yeah, I wouldn't have the fundage to replace the interior for a while, either. I still have about 6 months before I pay off my daily driver (4Runner) so I wasn't really wanting to get a toy until that was done, but it seems like such an excellent price.

yeah but thats the original Elenor from the 70's film!

thats a damn sexxy car man.
I would say to research the price comparo on autotrader.com under thier classics link. see what other Mach 1s go for.

as for the motor no clue. I know the 429 came in the Boss mustang though, not the Mach 1.

The kid next door had one when I was in high school. It had a 351 cleveland in it and I though he said it was stock and had louvers....It was gold with black stripes and I always liked the way the louvers looked on those cars as well as the gen III camaros. Just looked good to me...

You have a link autotrader classics? I must be either blind or stupid or both because I can't seem to find it, even with a google search. I checked some other sites, but they don't have the selection that autotrader generally does (more straight up collector oriented), but for a rust free 302 it appears to be a better than average deal, but not so great I can't pass it up at this time.

And did some research, looks like 69-70 came with a 351 or 428 with the 428 adding about 5-10k onto it if its matching numbers. 71-73 came with 302, 351 and 429 with the 351 being the most common and the 302 being the cheapest. Most of the 69 and 70 351s seem to be Windsor where most of the 71-73 351s seem to be Clevelands.

Anyways, so I am thinking come July or so when my daily is paid off I will start looking for a 351C, or maybe if I come across a good enough deal a CJ, but most of them that are restored are 25k+ whereas a 351C looks attainable at 15k.

That was one I saw through a google search. I didn't realize they were autotrader. I though in the past it had been like autotrader.com/classic.
