Ok so I'm new to Buicks, I'm a Honda person but my brother recently got a 1991 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. Well this thing is kind of confusing to me because I can't find any of the screw to take the dash apart and I don't want to risk messing anything up on his new car so I'm asking if anyone can tell where to look or even better can you send me a link of how to do it? I also have a few questions, when the stock radio is on there is horrible sound that comes from the passenger side front speaker. one more question when his stock stereo is turned all the way up you can barely here it. I don't know much about Buicks so ANY help is greatly appreciatted. Thank you.

Remove woodgrain trim near bottom of dash (simply pops off by hand) Remove the small screws in the dash from where the trim had been. Use pliers or needle nose pliers and gently pull the vent outlets out of the dash (pull at the top half of the vents and they'll snap right out) Remove the screws located inside the upper part of the air ducts where the vents were removed. Remove the 2 screws from above the instrument panel. Remove the woodgrain trim on the left side (where the trunk switch is) and remove the screws located there. Open the glove box and remove the screws from inside (the ones that lead to the dash, not the ones the hold the glovebox lid on the actual glovebox itself) Pull the glovebox out of the dash. Shift down to 3 to remove the radio bezel. The radio screws are now accessable. One of the bolts is hidden way behind the radio, you'll need a long driver to reach it. The speaker noise is more than likely just a blown or plain worn out dash speaker; is it a door speaker (Concert Sound II) or a dash speaker? Years of UV rays seems to always have that effect on dash speakers. Either way, if you're going with an aftermarket deck, you'll need to replace the stock speakers anyways, that is, if you want any good quality sound. Non OEM decks are just way too powerful for the factory speakers. Good luck with it!

What size speakers should He get to replace the stock ones and what would do good with an older Pioneer super tunerII head unit? and would there be a wiring harness for the park avenue at Wal-Mart or a best buy etc.?One last question, How do get to the speakers in the door to replace them? 5 1/4s in the doors, nothing else will fit. You'll have to remove the door panel to get to the speaker. Check the forums here, there are a ton of posts for door panel removal. Gte the harness at walmart, it's WAY cheaper than a harness from any electronics store. It may just be my opinion, but I think that the brand speakers should be based on the same brand head unit, so I'd go with pioneers in your case.

thansk again for the info. and if I try to use the new headunit with the factory speaker will it just straight up blow them? or will they lack power?

My alpine head unit is even too powerful for the front Pioneers I have, and I can only imagine what it'd do to the factory originals!:shakehead
