Tire preasure computerGary L 02-07-2007, 11:57 AM Hi to all and hope I can get some advice here on this. My 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited has the tire preasure displayed on the computer in the vehicle. When I rotate I update the sensors with the magnetic ring. It appears to work fine. All of a sudden, it got extreamly cold here, below zero and all my tires have low preasure, on the read out and on my tire gauge. I am loosing air but not sure why. I refill and a few days later they are low again. I am not willing to believe all 5 tires have slow leaks in the tires but am more inclined to think the valve stems are the culprits. I am not up to speed regarding this computer sensor deal but suspect the sensors are in the valve stems so this could be a very expensive repair. Can anyone shed some light on this. Even my spare is reading low and my digital hand held gauge verifies low preasure so I am loosing air somewhere. Thank you Gary mac10334 02-08-2007, 11:51 PM Seasonal changes or altitude changes create a rise or drop in air pressure (for every 10 degrees change in temperature, tire air pressures changes 1 psi). But perhaps the most overlooked factor is vehicle loading for trucks and RVs. Since these vehicles can be configured and loaded in many ways, the proper inflation pressure should be determined by actual tire loads. This is best determined by weighing the vehicle; vehicle loading can change from trip to trip. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
