I'm getting ready to purchase a grand marquis from car max. When I look at the specs It says that the 2000 has 270 Torque@4000 225 Horsepower@4750, while thje 2000 has 275 Torque@3000 200 Horsepower@4250. Sow which one is faster. 2000 has less horsepower but has its torque at 3000 rmp, but 2001 has more horsepower yet it has less torque at a higher rpm. I'm very confused. What I'm looking for most is more acceleration on the low end. Someone please clear this up for me.

Then get one that has a towing & handling packege as they tend to have lower gears and dual exhaust. Other then that it is totally ponitless to answer your question, because dual exhaust is said to add an extra 10-15hp, tire size makes a differance along with gearing. I'm sure it you had a wind tunnel you would also notice that the models with the handling packege have less air drag as the models without sit twice as high.
