A couple years ago, during a particularly cold time during the winter, my wifes Tracker started smelling as if it had a fuel leak. It kept running just fine though. This problem went away and I never thought about it again. Now, here it is winter 2 years later, it was pretty cold this morning when she decided to run to the store. When she came back, parked in the garage and sent me out to unload all the "stuff" she bought, I was hit with the smell of leaking gas, only this time, I could see where it was coming from (area) but could not pinpoint the actual leak point. While inspecting, I cleaned up the lines and then started it to try to duplicate the problem, which of course I could not do. It wouldn't leak when I wanted it to. Imagine that. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Remedy? Sidebar- I noticed the fuel pump runs much longer before starting, almost 5 seconds. But not leaking now. This leak by the way, is in the right front where the lines go from metal to plastic to rubber to metal again. Just can't determine which one if any is leaking and why only when it is cold out. Thanks.

dont have an answer for you, sorry...just wanted to give you a kind caution...if your oil light ever comes on, stop immediately! ours came on, and within a half mile, so we could get some oil...we burned up the motor on an otherwise perfectly beautiful vehicle! was full of oil but the oil pump had failed...have talked to others as a result of this, and have found out that this a problem with this particular vehicle. We only had 65k miles on it and still had 2 years to pay!
