1998 Silverado No Cat and what to do with oxygen sensors?jreynish 02-02-2007, 11:58 AM I am using a GM 5.7L Vortec out of a 1998 Chev Silverado and am not using it to propell a vehicle on the road instead it will be running a winch. So I will not have any catylitic converters. I will still be using the oxygen sensors I notice in the stock exhaust system ther is two heated o2 sensors prior to the cats and two after the cats (1 on each side) what would happen if I were to make this run the same but without the cat's what would be the end result as far as operation of the engine? Thanks 2000CAYukon 02-02-2007, 07:22 PM I am using a GM 5.7L Vortec out of a 1998 Chev Silverado and am not using it to propell a vehicle on the road instead it will be running a winch. Thanks You need to keep the 2 before the cats or it will not run right. The 2 after the cat can be replaced by 02 Simulators (which are for off road only). //2000CAYukon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
