Timing Belt and Turn Signal Question 00 villagerjrwpmw 01-30-2007, 09:38 PM Hi Two questions on my 2000 Mercury Villager: 1) I heard that I should change the timing belt at 120,000 miles. But I just checked the owers manual but that's not mentioned at all? Is it possible that timing belts don't need to be replaced on the 2000 and newer Villagers? 2) At times when I turn on my turn signals, they will not work, or start to and then stop. Same thing with my bright lights, when I pull back on the turn signal handle to put them on, I can here a short of some kind as the brights flicker on and off. I'm wondering if this is just a short, a problem with the turn signal, or some electronic module that is failing? Thanks! dzus 01-31-2007, 12:19 AM Timing belt recommended replacement is 105k miles. Multi-function switch failure is common on the villager and easy to replace. jrwpmw 01-31-2007, 07:48 AM Timing belt recommended replacement is 105k miles. On the multi-function switch, where is it located and are there any instructions online for replacing it? Thanks again for your expertise I replace water pump, thermostat, belts (dealer parts) and flush coolant when changing timing belts. The turn signal/light/wiper switch is the multi-function switch located on steering column. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
