Finally here it is !!
9 months late, but we've got it !
It doesn't seem perfect to me (something in the engine is disturbing me but I can't say what...:screwy: ) but by comparison to the model I have it must be better, at least because it's an opening kit.
I now know what would be my birthday gift next month... :naughty:
I don't see a price, though.

It's even probably less directly at Profil24, or at least at Domninomodel (130 euros if price given before release hasn't changed)

Looks like a really nice kit.Must be my favourite Group 'B' car if not rally car ever and in the Martini livery as well.I could be adding one to my collection of kits.

125 usd @ StradaSport, don't know how but he done it. Aka 100 euro for us.
BTW seem not perfect to me. Having already Ken's TK I expected something stellar, subject deserve it. My friend Ale from Ita forum seen something strange with rims, they seem for the gravel version, and something other.

I have the Metro 6R4 from Profil, details here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=543057 and I'm afraid the new kit will continue the same these: Rare subject with some good details, but LOTS of holes to fill and parts to tweak. They really do have you over a barrel with these kits, and it's a shame they don't put more of an effort into the quality-control of the kit.

Hi,
I also have Kenīs TK and looking at the detail pics of the Profil, I decided to stick to it and not to buy the Profil. If I hadnīt the TK, I might have bought the Profil.

I agree, those wheels are gravel one according to me, too... Even if they used several types of wheels during MC 86.
I think that what seems strange too is the way they painted the engine details more than details themselves...
But I am really wondering if I will buy it... I would highly prefer seeing it and having it in my hands before paying... definitely doesn't seem so perfect that what I thought... :screwy:

Don't be so rude with them, they do put effort into quality control, they are very serious (they replace my body for a curved rear wing side support !!).
I think you probably have wrong expectations about resin and you still may haven't practiced it enough (metro was your first resin, right ?) :dunno: because except perhaps some Studio 27 TK I never found a perfect resin cast...
I read your good review of the metro once more and seeing your pics you don't have so bad resin cast, neither better nor worse than mine... :naughty:
Resin isn't plastic, if you expect something perfect from resin kits don't buy some ! :evillol:
That said, anyway your skills will make the difference and even worst kits could finally come nice (ask Steve about the reji S1... :naughty: :evillol: ).

I disagree: There are some glaring problems with the parts in that kit, especially for the money. I'm not just talking flashing, which happens, I mean large pea-sized holes. See here:

Those will require a lot of filler.
Second, the bumper. It overhangs the front fenders on each side, and I don't see how that happened. The master must not have been correct, not some kind of a casting error.

oops...:frown:
Please don't blame me, too ! :sorry: :grinyes:
I was just trying to discuss a point of view which I thougt too much closes (hope this is better word than rude to mean what I want to... "severe" is it a correct english word ?)
But seeing your engine block in such close up it's sure you have big bubbles problems I didn't noticed and that doesn't give a serious feeling about Profil24 work...
I made the same notices with my Gass model and thought exactly the same, "not serious", "no control" etc...
By learning I was the only one to have the problem I prefered thinking mine wasn't good and that it was only one among all others. (bad luck... )
Front bumper separated from rest of the body is on my opinion something not justified (not to say stupid) but even if mine doesn't fit perfectly I don't have your problems, too... I have some holes to fil too, but contrary to what I thought not so big than yours (or better saying you have bigger ones than I)... Finally you really received a worse kit than mine.
So all my appologizes if you took it bad but I didn't want to say your were wrong, just a little bit to "severe" (?) with them seeing what I personaly have in my hands by comparison to resin kits in general. (and moreover knowing their service quality)
It's definitely not only an expectation problems about resin kits when we see your kit under such angle and I feel a little confused now, because especially with some bad 1/43 resin kits I learnt to accept even worst things (and finally change that point of view and now refuse to buy some brands or kits) and such resin bubbles seems common problems to me, but as much as you got it's too much, that's right, and I didn't noticed that... :2cents:
I am really confused, sorry.
What is sure is that for the price we pay for such kits we all expect something perfect, even if it may not exist, and such resin problems are difficult to admit...
I didn't think it was so much and/or so common for Profil24 but if someone else has had same troubles, they probably still have some improvements to do.
if not and you're the only one, sorry but you got the worst kit of the serie ! :grinno:
