Good race. Only caught traction going in third. I love there reaction when they see civics smoke their 30K car.

Yeah. Sounds fishy.

808hardbody

Ain't nothing fishy. He ran 13.9's on the track. I run 12.5. No bull here boys. Maybe he doesn't know how to drive. His 02' Z06 is stock. But I won. My setup is 99 type r turbo. Straight T3, 5 pounds of boost tuned on Hondata S200. 370 Rc injectors and some other stuff in the motor. Car only has 2 seats. rest of the panel are out. Is it really that hard to believe? Low boost high compression go good hand in hand. Oh car only dynoed at 230whp and 160 torque.

A few things to go along with that....

1. If my opinion doesnt matter, why are you making it such a big deal then?
2. I'm no longer hoping for 350whp....i'm actually in the process of testing a new turbo for Speed Trap Consulting...it is a very responsive, quick spooling hybrid turbo (real hybrid....wheels and everything are mismatched), but it should be a monster when its done :D
3. Stock block GSRs making 350whp+ are not that common....you go find me about 8 of them making that kind of power on pump gas with nothing internally done (including ARP studs) and i'll recant this statement.

Your original post lacked any detail, not even a list of mods. Lots of newbs come here with claims like this, 99% of them are BS. I'll reserve comment till I see proof. Pics and vids go a long way, but a timesheet would give you some credibility. We'll know if you post a vid of someone else's car.

...until then everyones dick-waving and claims of "my turbo is bigger than yours" are somewhat amusing but absolutely useless.

silentscreams85

considering the very light weight of the civic ( according to the car in your profile and year) they weigh what maybe 2200 lbs or so...and if you dynoed 230 at the wheels i would actually believe you being an 02 z06 ( ~400hp 3100lbs)...prove the masses wrong. offer some proof or your just some internet troll...

Gohan Ryu
01-31-2007, 02:46 PM
Actually there are probably tons of turboed Civics doing 230whp - but that just doesn't seem like enough horses to run a 12.5, even in a 2000lb car. If it is enough, you'd really have to know how to drive it to pull a 12.5...especially the launch...which makes me wonder why he couldn't get traction until 3rd gear when he raced the vette...

but oh well, anything can happen on the street. There's always the possibility that the other guy is an idiot driving daddy's car...

Schister66
01-31-2007, 03:53 PM
i'm not doubting any of this is possible; however, i doubt a 2000lb car w/ 230whp is going to run a 12.5. It is entirely possible for a nicely setup boosted Honda to beat a Z06. I have no doubt about that.

What kind of dyno did you get those numbers from?? That could make a big difference too....

"my turbo is bigger than yours"

also i believe this was in reference to me....it doesnt matter the size of the turbo, it needs to be properly sized to the car. The comment i made was not to show that my new turbo is physically larger that his, but that i'm now getting one that is going to be a perfect match to mine...

Also to the OP, if you're ever interested in making more power, we might be able to talk....LETS SEE SOME PICS ALREADY

Is that good enough...I trying to get some videos of my car a the track from my friend. Raced the car all season last year. Started in feb06 running 13.5's ended the season in Dec06 running 12.5's. I am using lensos with 24.5 @ 10 psi. I swear I'm running 5 psi. I want to up the boost this season, but not to much Hondata tuners out here. So ya see, when I took the motor out of the teg. I did'nt mess with the settings. I guessing it dynoed 230 @ 5psi. Trust me, I want to go little higher, but I need someone to tune it. Type r's can only handle so much boost before you blow. The turbo is really efficent, so the car spools up around 3K. The car barley spikes to 6psi. I'm runnin daily driven uncapped. If you want more request let me know. I not here to bash, but when guys doubt you, you take it a little personal. because in your mind you know your right.

I did'nt really expect all this bickering. I'm on Honda-tech, Nwp4life, and go check out speedhawaii.com. I'm there. All my Screen names are 5psi.
(P.S. I not gonna post some video of some other car, c'mon I'm not a internet racer dude.)

I think I had all season to practice. 1.7 60 ft. 0.0xx reaction times. Dude the race with the vette was on the street. By the way what do you have? Just curious.

what do you mean Detail? That's all you need to know. newb...I probably been in this game before you
Detail...like "Driving home from dis party las' nite, I stop at a red light. Dis haole in a Corvette pull up next to me and wen' rev his engine. So I shout "Geev 'um brah!" and it was on...". We want to be entertained.

"Newb" doesn't mean how much knowledge you have or how long you've been driving...it refers to the number of posts you have, which directly affect your believeability rating around here. It sucks to have some new guy go on about his V8 eating Honda only to find out it's BS. Once there's proof you'll get the respect that a non-BSer deserves...

Having said that...Nice car, brah.

...I have a 96 VTEC Prelude that's mostly stock as my daily driver. And a 90 CRX with a swapped B16 that's probably getting turboed after I pay off a few credit cards...
I've owned a few muscle cars...Camaro, Mustang...and a few other 4-bangers...at the moment I'm in Honda mode and believe all Honda cars to be infallible.

also i believe this was in reference to me....it doesnt matter the size of the turbo, it needs to be properly sized to the car

Naw...I didn't mean anyone in particular, and I shouldn't have paraphrased the word "turbo"...sorry. I was just referring to the direction the thread was going. I should have said "My shift-knob is bigger..."

I'm actually curious about your upcoming turbo project since I'm hoping to turbo my car soon - looking forward to your posts about it.
