When we bought the car, the rear defrost was not connected to the window. They fixed it for us and it worked for awhile, but now isn't for some reason. The light comes on showing it should be, but no defrosting at all. It's still connected to the window, so I have no clue what's wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If the lines on the rear glass have been damaged that may be the cause of the problem. Someone ripped the connection tab off of one side of mine and mine doesn't work but the light will come on.

Same thing happened to my '98 a few years back, when I owned it (now have an '04).

The connector cannot be simply reconnected to the grid - they had to replace the entire rear window. Don't know why, but it worked fine after that.

Another reason I'm glad I had the extended warranty.

If you have a multimeter, check continuity from the connector to the grid. The connector is most likely not making good contact with the grid. I used the grid line repair liquid around the connector to to help reconnect the connector to the grid.
