Going upsuperjens 09-04-2001, 02:51 AM Lance 09-04-2001, 09:44 PM Nice Pic! :D I like when the shot has the horizon level, instead of aiming the camera down at the truck...which makes the truck look like its on level ground....you can see the steepness in the pic here all right! :) superjens 09-04-2001, 11:38 PM It was a nice trail, one that makes you think of all the mods you still need. Right now my truck is stock and that's as far as I got. Underneath it was a huge rock just waiting to tear into my belly. I tried some other lines but it was obvious that I need a few more inches of clearance. Work with me here, I said need, not want! Hehe, I'm trying to convince myself to spend all kinds of crazy money. Lance 09-05-2001, 07:28 AM The fastest way to improve that breakover angle (The one you are seemingly about to test in the shot above...) is larger diameter tires/torsion bar lift/shackle lift. The stock 29" can go to 32" w/o crazy money...assuming you do it when you are due for new tires anyway... That essentially gets you 1.5" of lift. The torsion bars can be cranked up about 1.5" w/o much prob, and zero $....now you have a total of 3.0" more ground clearance. Throw in some longer shackles (Cheap) for the rear, and viola...you are pretty much level too. So - You can make all of the above improvements, and have 3" more ground clearance, for the cost of the shackles, plus the difference between buying new 29" and new 32" tires, and maybe a wheel alignment, unless you were also due for that anyway too. Have Fun! :D superjens 09-05-2001, 03:27 PM Good thinking. The shackles, shocks, torsion bar twist are all coming soon (shackles ordered yesterday). Tires will come next spring. Then I'll try it again! Lance 09-05-2001, 09:14 PM You ARE Going Up!!!:D vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
