My 1997 S-320 key died. Will still lock & unlock doors, etc. Engine turns over but never starts. Valet key is only way to start car.

Changed batt in key, but still no start. MB dealer said I had to buy a new key from them at $300.00, yikes

Anyone know how to re-code my key to my car?
