Whenever I accelerate my 2001 Honda CRV from a dead stop, I feel and hear something clunk in the engine or the suspension. It sounds and feels like something is loose and is setting in place as the car speeds up. I have had a mech check all the connections and he said everything was tight.
Does anyone have any idea what could be loose or what might be making this happen?
Thanks

Is your CR-V 2-Wheel or 4-Wheel Drive?

That's most likely the rear axel shifting in it's mount when you shift from first to second gear. I would seriously recommend slowly accelerating or you will need to replace your $1250 transmission (don't ask me why it's the transmission that would need replacing...I don't know, I am merely quoting a service manager). This problem is very common in the 01's. A friend of mine was told he needed to fix it when it finally destroyed itself so he simply took out the axel himself and kept it front only.
Good luck. =D
