Well it is supposed to be a sports coupe... :D
Even better is the Continental PC, with the slightley squarer front features actually makes the car look better. This is probably one of the top 10 cars in the world though. :)

Continental PC? I've seen the GT, the R, the T, and the SC...even heard of the ST, but not the PC. What is it?

Look on the Bentley website, and concept cars. I saw it there and although this was some time ago it might still be there.

If you read clarksons article talking about the car, he does mention that "In the event of a salesman assuring you that it can seat 4 adults, you should laughy openly in his face" Perhaps a 2+(0.5 x 2) should be more appropriate.

top speed wise!

Motor Trend had recorded a 187mph (limited) top speed for the CL55
And both the CL600 / 65 AMG are more powerful
Bentley GT is a FAST car, no doubt about that.
But it is still a little bit off from being the "fastest"

Yes, but stock 4 seaters that come regulated means that their top speed IS that regulated figure. Clarksons article mentioned a 198 mph top speed.

As far as I know, the 198mph top speed was "claimed" by Volkswagen.
This new GT weighs over 5000lbs, and I don't know any tires on the market today are actually capable of the claimed 198mph.
But the 200+mph Mercedes AMG models were actually "tested" by the people of several automobile magazines.
In many countries, Mercedes-AMG does offer these 200+mph to their customers. Mercedes-AMG knows that their customers won't be happy when they a Porsche pulls ahead of them after 250kph or 155mph.
But eventually the cars are still limited at about 205mph, because no tires are capable of that speed when the car weighs around 4200lbs, until Michelin comes out with the tires for the 4100lbs Bugatti Veyron.
Bugatti which is also VW-owned, had claimed a 252mph top speed for the Veyron, but this is nothing but a claim. Michelin is still trying to develop a tire that could actually hold up to 252mph. And also the body work of Veyron is still not done. Same for the transmission, the transmission just couldn't handle the 900+lb-ft torque.
If anyone know any real test (other than VW's) please let me know, because I don't really believe what VW says.

Conti GT was clocked at over 200mph by Wolfgang Koenig in 2004. You can read his article in Autocar magazine. Bentley needed to develop new tyres to achieve the required speed-load rating as mandated by the ETRTO standards. They did so with Michelin and Pirelli in 19" guise for the 2004 model year. They then worked with Yokohama to develop a 20" tyre as a 2005 model year option. I know a lot about the Bentley if anyone has any questions.
