Fellow Z Owners and Enthusiasts,

After a one year hiatus and many requests, the Middle Tennessee Z Club has resurrected the ZATTACK weekend event and car show for 2007. This year’s ZATTACK features our traditional schedule and offers some very exciting new functions. As always, we will start things off on Friday, April 13 with a tour of Nissan’s Smyrna Factory, most productive assembly plant in North America and the home of the Altima, Maxima, Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra. We will end the afternoon at Crawford Z Car in downtown Nashville for the infamous pre show and welcome party. Saturday, April 14 will start with our People’s Choice Car Show being held at the Lane Motor Museum (www.lanemotormuseum.org (http://www.lanemotormuseum.org/)). Following the show there is a free period to rest, see local sites, or enjoy a Z Car cruise on the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway as we make our way to the post show gathering at Rolling River Estates pavilion.
If any of this were not enough reason to attend, this year we have a few special offerings. With the recent move of Nissan North America Headquarters from California to Nashville, we have been able build a relationship within the Nissan family through various club members employed by Nissan. Upon moving to Nashville, Nissan brought their personal 35 car Heritage collection. This unbelievable car collection is on loan and is being housed in the Lane Motor Museum here in Nashville. It is by special request to the Lane and to Nissan that we are able to get a closer look at the collection. Your registration for ZATTACK will not only grant you access to the museum, but a private tour of the complete collection including cars not on display. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for any auto enthusiast.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE ENTIRE COLLECTION (http://www.nissan-me.com/heritage/database/en_index.html)

We have reserved a limited amount of covered indoor space for the car show which will be given out to early registrants. There will be outdoor spots also, but since the indoor space will be limited depending on the number of entries, register early to secure your covered spot. Trophies will be awarded to first and second place for each the stock and modified class of each generation.
In addition to these exciting activities we are continuing to work with Nissan and other sponsors for other possible surprises, activities, and giveaways. Here is a rundown and important information about each event. The club web site (www.middletennesseezclub .com (http://www.middletennesseezclub.com/)) will be updated as more information becomes available on these extras. Event T-Shirt designs coming shortly! Middle Tennessee Z club looks forward to seeing you there!

broke are you still running stock gauges -boost?

Broke_as_****

The boost gauge is the only after market piece but that will be rectified fairly soon with a few other tidbits. I have a jumper harness coming in to go between my engine harness and ecu so I can splice in the wide band O2 and SAFC without cutting up anything hard to replace. The O2 feeds an AF gauge so there will be that and then I'm getting a dual fuel/oil pressure gauge. I'm going to mount them in one of those nice lookin' 3 gauge DIN panels so I got one more gauge slot to fill but I haven't really figured anything worth putting in there. Oil temp or something.

Anyway, good luck on the swap londos.

I would consider either Volt meter or Fuel pressure. For a TT - those are pretty important guages.. I also have an A/F guage run to the O2 sensors.. pretty useless really since the Z32 O2's are narrowband, and the readings are unusable under boost, but it sure is pretty at night!

Anyway, good luck on the swap londos.

Thanks Man! I hope it goes smoothly...

Uh...I mentioned fuel pressure.

I'm getting a dual fuel/oil pressure gauge.

Anyway, I don't really see a volt meter as being all that relevant with any car made past the late 70s. Really the only thing that is going to tell you is whether or not your alternator is working correctly, and given that part doesn't have a high likely hood of failure, I don't see the point in being able to monitor it. I do hook my laptop up with the Blazt cable (usually after any upgrading or oil change) to get a periodic read on engine function but there isn't really too much that demands a way to monitor it constantly when it comes to street cars.

I was thinking about mounting the oil temp sensor in one of the turbo return lines since that would be the highest temps the oil would see. That would give you a better idea of how hot the turbos are so you can time cool down idle appropriately. And knowing just how hot the oil is getting is handy info.

Well - it sounds like you have a good plan. Any of those mentioned gauges seem appropriate. I would note that the reason I mentioned voltmeter is that I have seen many Z32 alternators fail due to its precarious location under the leak-prone power steering pump.. just a thought there.

Good luck with the install.

i'd go with an oil pressure gauge... perhaps a pressure/temp if you were able to find one... but that's me.. and what i already did lol.. and also because the z31 stock sensors are known to go bad a lot...

but yeah, oil pressure is vital and i wouldn't rely on a stock gauge for it

i think oil temp would be more vital in avoiding problems. oil pressure means you have a problem, and it is probably a problem that you aren't going to be able to fix without a rebuild anyways.

not necessarily... you could have forgotten to fully tighten a sensor or your drainplug or something and that would cause a pressure drop and a leak... but if you could have both i'd definitely go for that

true i suppose...it has been a while since i bought mine, i forgot what 3 i bought. i think they were boost, oil temp, and water temp (only because i don't trust the stock gauge). but i plan to get that Consult program to run which somebody updated the software with an array of gauge options to display on your screen.

DZ: has someone designed software to allow full romulator to perform full datalogging? i know ash's does minor things but far from what i would consider datalogging.

DeleriousZ
03-05-2007, 02:29 PM
i don't remember... it's been a long time since i've looked into any of that stuff... but i don't think so.. the only logging it does is of a/f ratio's and that's in conjunction with the lm2 wideband setup...

i see...i think ash's software for romulator which he calls Zemulator has some basic datalogging but i am pretty sure he is working very hard to get some usable datalogging going on. eh...just wondering

If you've never seen the Nissan Assembly Plant in Smyrna it is incredible.

Here is a short video of our club's spring cruise which included a tour of the Nissan Decherd plant which is about 70 miles from the Smyrna plant. Decherd is a smaller plant, but you can tell from the video that the Nissan plants in Tennessee are quite a sight to behold! Smyrna is MUCH larger! The Smyrna plant has about 6,700 employees and 5.4 million square feet of floor space.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2152454970899347557
tour footage begins at 2:50

http://www.autointell.com/asian_companies/nissan/nissan-facilities/nmmc-smyrna-plant-med.jpg

The tour is about 1 hour long, and will by given via a moving Tram. Walking will be very minimal. The tour can accommodate handicapped visitors and is wheelchair-friendly. All registrants will be able to park their Z in a high security lot, and best of all: The lines will be running during the tour, so you will be able to watch vehicles being assembled live!

Reminder: All tour participants MUST be pre-registered (http://www.middletennesseezclub.com/) (Nissan requires this). You cannot just "show-up", so if you think this might be something you would like to do, make sure to register soon (http://www.middletennesseezclub.com/) before all the slots are full!
