Okay, i currently drive a 98 toyota corolla but that car will go to my sister in a couple weeks once she gets her license. i have 4250 to spend and i'm looking for something somewhat quick, it would have to be a foreign car b/c my parents think that domestics are all unreliable. i was thinking maybe an integra or an older gti? any thoughts?

Too bad your parents have the wrong idea about domestic vehicles, as they are not all unreliable.

I just pulled this from the other thread, and I think it applies to your situation. (This isn't my persanol expirience and it was posted by another user). i totally agree. im 16 and my first car (that i just sold) was a 95 bonneville, it wasnt the most effecient car but it got about 24 to the gallon. now when i had that car nothing huge in the form of law or accidents happen, but i recently bought a 99 monte carlo and shit just went wrong. the first week i had it i hit a dog that broke my new bumper that i had just installed and had painted, i went into a ditch which bent my new quarter panel and broke the rest of my bumper which is obviously still lucky, i had a crooked cop give me a speeding ticket for 21 over in a 60 when i was doing 10 over, my friends dad was helping push my car outta the snow new years eve and he pressed on that same quarter panel so had it left a big dent in it i have to "fix", its not very good on gas. the list just goes on. but moral of that story is get something good on gas and you dont have to worry about jacking up. hell a 01' kia is a pretty new car and if it has only 26 on the clock then you should jump at something like that, because when it comes to driving that maxima you're going to learn how expensive it becomes taking that thing to the mechanic if you dont know how to do it. that and people that hire 16 year old kids for jobs dont usually take shit, you dont show to your job because your car isnt working, theres a good chance you just lost your job. i pay 300 for insurance.
