Trunk wont openSlackerOfSociety 01-22-2007, 02:33 PM I have a 98 malibu. I disabled the trunk button months ago by flipping that switch in the trunk. I always used my key to open the trunk. Now for some reason my key wont turn. Any ideas? Is there a way to take the rear seat down so I can crawl into the trunk and flip the switch back? Thanks Malibu_Newbie 01-22-2007, 02:40 PM I have a 98 as well. I think I read on here that there really isn't a way to open from the inside. Is there anyway you could take it to a locksmith and see if they could open it for ya. Malibu_Newbie 01-22-2007, 02:45 PM I found this for ya: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=373393&highlight=take+out+back+seat There is no way to fold the seats from inside the vehicle. I believe it sis a safety feature so kids playing in the car can't crawl into the trunk and get trapped. cheerios1 01-22-2007, 02:55 PM yeah true don't know from the inside of the car, my malibu 98 has a strap inside the trunk.....when pulled drops the seat....but if u can't open the trunk oh my, like advised see if u can have a locksmith check it out ....
