electrical problemtundraathome 01-21-2007, 04:57 PM my son has a 93 mercury villager that so far has been doing a pretty good job. recently he has been having some electrical issues thatare driving him crazy. it appears that maybe one out of maybe 7 times that he shuts the van off he will go back later to start it and there will be no power anywhere ,no lights, no power door locks, no dash lights, nothing. it sounds like a main splice somehere but he tells me that if he bangs his fist on the side of the steering column he can get power back. any ideas out there .. thanks sam tundraathome 01-21-2007, 09:42 PM spoke to my son this afternoon to see if he had found anything out but he said that no luck so far. he did say however that in the last little while that a lot of corrosion was developing on his battery post in that he was cleaning them about once every 3 weeks sam dzus 01-22-2007, 08:57 AM Sounds like the ignition switch is going bad. Try spraying wd-40 inside key hole and work it with the key a few times and see if it helps. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
