Welcome to the forum, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your builds. You picked a good one to start with, one of the all time classics. Your off to a good start with the interior, keep it up and keep us posted.

Welcome! Believe it or not, I started this hobby by doing this kit (a long time ago, during its debut in the 80's)

This kit builds up nicely and has no fitment problems, so you should be good to go.

Also I do not use an airbrush, but I DO use a spray can, as this is the only way to get good, even coverage of large areas with even coats. The body, chasis, engine, etc should be painted with a spray can.

Otherwise, if you have any questions, please ask, we are here to help!

The chassis looks great, I love the tires. Have you thought about a two tone paint job? I think the silver and ocean blue would look awsome together. :2cents: Good luck with the spray booth, and keep up the good work.

I came back to the hobby in 1995 after a 22 year break. I figured I'd be a better builder, but I sucked at it! Then I discovered aftermarket parts, good paint (not the Testors hobby line), learned a ton of techniques and tricks.

That Chevelle is a good kit, I did one a few years ago that came out great. If you want to use Duplicolor paint, use their primer too as the paint is a lacquer base. I was a dining room table builder for years, but now have a dedicated model spot of my own. I do just about all my painting with spray cans, but own 4 airbrushes. I have no paint booth, I just open the basement door, step out a few paces and paint.
