my civic is not in time??1988civicdx 01-13-2007, 12:14 PM my head gasket blew on my civic and we put a hf head on it and a new head gasket, then we put it back together and now it does not idle, it sounds like it has a cam in it the way it idles, it has no power at all, it wants to die out at idle, maybe the new head has something to do with it or maybe the boy who worked on it for me dont know how to set a honda in time.....1988 honda civic dx d15b2, 5 spd, someone told me the hf head on a dx car will mess things up, i still have my old head though, maybe i should just put that back on. and now it gets hot. Schister66 01-13-2007, 01:39 PM did you put the engine to TDC and line up the cam w/ it?? If not, you would have shitty idle and it would run hot.... 1988civicdx 01-13-2007, 02:34 PM it has a dx computer on a hf head, maybe that is what is wrong with it you think because the dx computer is throwing to much fuel into the hf head?? Schister66 01-13-2007, 07:26 PM it isn't going to be that different where it isn't going to idle correctly...i'm going to bet that something wasn't lined up properly when it was reassembled... 1988civicdx 01-23-2007, 02:57 AM i put the dx head back on the car, i really do not understand the timing marks on the cam gear of my 1.5....any help vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
