Programming new remote

I bought 2 keyless remotes off of ebay. I checked and the FCC numbers are the same as my old one but the new ones still won't program. What am I doing wrong??

What year and make vehicle?

It is a 2001 GMC Jimmy SLT.

Remember to do it with the door closed.

i tried it nothing works. These are the same instructions that came with the remotes. I guess I will have to take it to the dealer...............that will cost me.

Hold the buttons on the remote for up to 30 seconds.
