I am doing this on behalf of my father. Basically my dad owns a 2005 infini G35x and my mom owns a 2001 audi a4. The infini is owned while the audi was on lease and is up in a few months. My dad is giving my mom the infiniti and he is going to take the new car. He plans on buying instead of leasing. Looking to buy used so any 2006 model car not 2007. Basically he is looking for a high end luxury sports car preferably 2 door convertible that he can use in the winter (in canada). Looking for something sporty and fast for around $50,000 (used) so it could retail for more new. My first instinct was the G35 coupe but i think it would be wierd having two of the same cars. Then the next i had in mind was the lexus SC 430 but i dont know how reliable it would be for winter. Also was thinking possible audi TT, audi a4 convertible, etc or something along these lines. Any help and recommendations would be helpfull TIA.

Have had excellent luck with two Certified Pre-owned BMW's, a 1998 318i and a 2004 325ci with the Luxury and Sport packages. You get an extended factory warranty - the 2004, purchased in 2005, is covered 'til 2010 and 75,000 miles (only has about 20K on it now).

And you can deal on these just like any new or used car purchase. They started at $38,000 on the 2004, my wife got them down to $31,500 with the guarantee intact. Plus as a BMW CCA member she got an additional $500 loyalty rebate direct from BMW North America!
