Used Z3dresserman 01-08-2007, 08:18 PM Thinking of picking up a used Z3, this car is quite nice and well taken care of, my problem, it is a four cylinder version. How about some feedback on how the four cylinder cars run, milage, life expency, major things that need to be done, like timing belts etc, what to look for. It has a manual tranny and 90k showing, BMW serviced most of the time???? What I'm told. What is value for a 98? Thanks Condor 06-07-2007, 01:16 PM I was thinking of getting one too, like a 97-98 6 cylinder auto. I can drive the stick but my wife cant. With the gas so high lately i was now thinking of the 4 cylinder. Anybody here have any advice? dresserman 06-07-2007, 09:18 PM Good luck getting any info on this site. It's dead. I forgot about the Z3, all the ones I found where over priced. I picked up a 99% Miata, actually stole it. Having a ball, practially no money to get in and 35 MPG, fun, wow. Arrest me red w/5 speed, only way to go. Good luck. Condor 06-11-2007, 08:54 AM Is it just the BMW site nobody here, or the whole place? CONGRATULATIONS on the miata. I test drove the 97 Z3 4 cyl. 5 speed the other day. From the place I usually get my cars. He wants way too much for it based on the internet values, but I'm not buying until later this year anyway. My impression - really nice. It's zippy but not over powered. Very good handling and brakes. A smooth but firm ride. I drove it about 2 hours in city and highway. The top was a little difficult to get the latches off. Definately no rocket-ride, but faster than the CRX I drive occasionally. It handles better. Slower than the 93 325iS that is my daily driver. I have driven the 6 cylinder auto before. Compared to what I usually drive, it was a rocket. But with gas the way it is I am hesitant to get another 6 cylinder. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
