objective opinion of my "art."

I needed a new hobby and picked up photoshop and started manipulating some car pics. My car buddies all seem to like my pics, but I'm not sure how realistic (as art) they are. I tried to make the cars look less real by removing reflections and adding computer generated backgrounds. I have no formal art or photoshop training.

Anyways, I'd love some opinions:

very nice job... the first one looks like too much of a contrast with the background... but then again, i'm not really so much of an art person... so maybe to some ppl it'd look nice... art is always a personal-preference thing...

Looks cool!

Did you use Terragen for the backgrounds?

Yes, Teragen was used for the backgrounds. Cool program with lots of features, once you bother to learn how to use the program.

I love automotive ads and am trying to create the effect of an ad with the stuff I'm doing. Extraction of some of my cars is rough in areas, but only because I got impatient.

The Cobra is a fun subject and allows itself for better manipulation than other cars, IMHO.

Thanks for everyone's reviews. I know there's room to improve and I see my older stuff as pretty basic, the later stuff being much better, but I guess that's to be expected. These 3 pics are some of my earlier stuff.

# 1 and 3 are very well done, but with #2, the 911 the car was not moving orginally I'm assuming. This just means that, IMO the wheels are moving, the background is moving, yet the rest of the car is not.

I think that's what makes it look kool, the front of the car being clear, while the back seems moving... ;)
