Nothing real about them actually. I know you found those on Revlovers, but they actually came from a site of rendered CG models. I didn't want to register - it was a pay site, and rather expensive - but I recall these were part of an extensive tutorial. I'll try to find the original website over the next few days.

Here are the originals - non-Revlover-sized. At this resolution it's a bit easier to tell that they couldn't possibly be real:

Yeah, you can see in the 1st pic you posted at a bigger size the rear quarter is all wrong, all hunched up and the rear wheel is out.

The 2nd pic is the better of the 2

Ok - here's the site I was referring to:

http://www.simplylightwave.com/movie_pages/tutorial.mhtml?tut_id=529

Looks like something that would be neat to watch, but I'm not up for paying for it. It takes 45 total points to download all those videos and the package of 50 points costs £35.70. I will say that while details on his final product aren't perfect, they are certainly better than most I have seen.

Here's another McLaren-related 3d modeling tutorial that I just found while looking for the one above. It's free to view, but since it is hosted on Geocities it probably won't be long before the bandwidth limit is exceeded.
