I dont see water in the oil there is a little water coming out of the tail pipe but it stops after it heats up and so does the smoke what could it be the head gasket or what I dont want to sink alot of money in it because im trying to sell it

Still overheat? Any more details on when it overheats like in your driveway, around town, on the highhway, or all three. Any indicatios it's overheating besides the gauge?

I would try replacing the rad cap and/or taking the rad to a rad shop where they can do a pressurized backflush and check the flow rate.

I replaced the head gasket. That was the problem it now runs great. Thanks for the advice though.
