I am new to this whole automotive fourm thing, but you all seem really knowledgable in the way of toyota trucks. I currently have a ford truck but i am intersted in a local 87 4x4 Toytoa Tacoma. The owner says it has a blown head gasket. I was wondering how to tell if that is true. It has the famous turbo 4-cylinder, with a 5 speed standard transmission. Also i would love to look up information on the model truck. Things like stock horsepower and torque, gear ratios, standard equip that came on it and things like that. But i cant seem to get anywhere online. Every web page i go to is about the newer tacoma's. It yall could help me out it would APPRECIATE it!

Well, first off it isn't a Tacoma. It is just a Toyota truck. The motor is a 22RET. To look for a blown head gasket do a compression check. Stock HP on a healthy motor is about 130 or so. For info on those trucks you can go to TTORA or yotatech.
