CAI/Is this normal?

The G/F just got me an Injen CAI and it's been installed. So when the TB is at 5-10%, I hear a slight vacuum leak sound:eek: , It's very difficult to describe. Sounds like a continous chirp, squeal, whine. I know that the CAI doesn't have the baffles that the stock air box has to reduce noise, but I just wanted to confirm that this is normal. I went back and checked all the clamps three times and even added a clamp to a hose that a clamp was not supplied for in the kit. No check engine light, no driveability problems. What do you guys think?
For those of you thinking about getting a CAI and are worried about hydro lock, my car is at stock height and the lower most point of the filter is (guesstimation)6-8 inches above the ground. The upper most point is over a foot off the ground. It would have to be one hell of a puddle to hydro lock the engine. If anyone wants exact measurements, just let me know and I'll find out.
Performance wise, It's difficult to tell whether you're feeling a difference or just the anticipation of it. I think it makes a slight difference, especially once the vtec kicks in. As far as loudness, It definitely makes a difference. Sounds almost like a mild cat back. The volume is directly affected by throttle postion. Once the vtec switches to the other cam profile it becomes much louder. Love that sound.
On a side note, I always wondered if it would be better to get a SRI and a ram air type hood. Seems like you would get the security of a SRI and the power gains of a CAI. Anyone done this?
Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting a CAI/SRI.

Is it a whining sound? Its normal...its like a low low whistle right?
Its the sucking sound...I love that sound when I'm in 1st gear...but my SRI is louder than the CAI.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is, a whistling sound.
I love the noise it makes when upshifting at a high rpm, Makes me feel like I'm playing need for speed underground.
