Help Please!Low-Low-SIERRA 12-29-2006, 02:16 PM I just bought a 97 Sierra ext cab short bed. It ran good till 2 weeks ago. It bogs a little while driving and can't really floor it the RPM's go up but the truck is at a stand still and won't excelerate and also losses a lot of power going up hill's. I read that changing the fuel filter might help so I will do that this w/e. But if that doesn't help where do I go next. Thanks. maxwedge 12-29-2006, 04:51 PM Welcome to AF. . Does this feel like the trans is slipping or the engine is down on power, your description of the problem is not clear. Low-Low-SIERRA 12-29-2006, 05:23 PM Yeah it feels like the engine loss of power and feels kind of a ruff ride and takes a while for the truck to catch speed when getting in the highway. Low-Low-SIERRA 01-02-2007, 11:34 AM I really need help! I changed the fuel filter and the truck is still stalling. It feels as if it is lacking fuel. Should I change the fuel pump or what should I do? Thanks in advance. XhaloZ 01-02-2007, 02:20 PM Is it standard? If so it could be your clutch. You said it revs at high RPMS but it goes no where.... thats your truck or torque converter if you have an automatic Low-Low-SIERRA 01-02-2007, 02:49 PM The truck is Automatic. MyTOY 01-03-2007, 06:49 PM i would take a peek under the truck if u get home at nite & if u see glowing cat, maybe thats the prob. I've seen others with your symtoms with that prob but also other probs. but worth a check vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
