Hey,
does anyone know about swapping the engine from an infinity G20?

some friends at a performance shop told me that i can get the sr20det out of that car and put it in my s13.
supposedly it is the same as the jspec sr20det but the boost is set lower.
they said i can smog it as a G20 no problem
any feedback?

G20's have the same engine that the SE-R's have which is a SR20DE...NA 140HP w/Nissan's variable vale timing...which is good...but nowhere near what the SR20DET gives...so it's not the same..and no even the same internals

So your friends told you wrong!

Variable timing is only on the SR20VE I think they only have them on the newer G20's, but im not sure.

what about the older g20's?
and are they front wheel drive?
i think there's a g20t too
i saw a few of the newer ones and they are teh same engines as the SE-R so i donno.
i really want the sr20det but i want to be able to smog it you kno or drive it legally, i was thinking of just putting the ka24de in it and building that up but i kno the sr20det is a better engine
any suggestions?
