Bells when lights are on4x4grey88 12-27-2006, 12:48 AM I have a 1995 XLT RANGER and when I turn on the headlights there are 12 bells. What does that mean?? Any help? e_powers 12-27-2006, 08:45 AM i have no clue. but my best guess, if you are not the original owner, you might have an aftermarket alarm some where. 4x4grey88 12-27-2006, 09:09 PM No I am not the original owner and I don't think that it is the alarm system. I installed the alarm system my self but had the 12 bells (when I turn on the lights) prior to onstalling the alarm. The bells I am talking about are the same bells you would hear when you have your door open with the key in, only faster and only 12. DonSor 12-27-2006, 11:18 PM When you hear those bells after turning your headlights on, was your ignition on or vehicle running? I have a '99 Ranger that if I turn leave the lights on after turning the ignition off, I hear alarm bells but never bothered to count. e_powers 12-28-2006, 03:03 AM No I am not the original owner and I don't think that it is the alarm system. NOTHING. you dont need to be a jerk. if you dont like peoples responses take your truck to a mechanic. EvanM07 12-28-2006, 01:48 PM dude he wasnt being a jerk he was just saying he didnt think it was the alarm so cool it man... e_powers 12-28-2006, 04:58 PM dude he wasnt being a jerk he was just saying he didnt think it was the alarm so cool it man... yeah read his other response in another post i made in the ranger forums. 4x4grey88 12-29-2006, 12:22 AM The engine is on and when I turn on the lights there is 12 rapid bells, the same tone as when you turn off the engine and open the doors, only faster and with the doors closed. The bells sometimes give you information on how to locate the problems. I just thought that someone might have the information. I don't mind most comments and yes this is a free forum to post, but most people that post are either asking for information to assist them in repairs of their vehicle and if they don't know the answer they don't know. I have been posting on this site for some time now and have both given and received good information on how to assist in repairing vehicles. I only recently purchased the Ranger and that is why I asked for information on that problem. The Truck is great other than the light/bell thing. Happy Holidays DonSor 12-29-2006, 06:45 PM I think we got us someone who has a chip on his shoulders. Best thing to do is just to ignore the comments. way2old 12-29-2006, 07:37 PM e powers. I don't see where the other poster has said anything wrong in his post in this thread. So I also do not feel you have the right to slam him in here. He is asking a legitimate question and deserves an answer. I do this for free also and I try to give good answers when I can. So lets all calm down, have a little drink, smoke, or good food and start over. Thanks. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
