2002 Avalanche R&R antenna base

OEM base has 14" shielded cable - Instrument panel cowling is off to expose panel and radio. By attaching a pull string to the radio end of the cable one should be able to pull the old base out far enough out of the right fender to connect the new base and pull the cable back in with the pull string to reconnect to the radio. I am not comfortable this is the correct methodology.

I doubt you will be able to pull the antenna coax through the dash. GM tapes it to various components as it snakes throught the dash. Like wiring harnesses or metal in the dash, or what ever is close by. The antenna cable it segmented and you should only need to replace the bad piece and not the whole thing, unless you really want to.
