Rice is more than just stupid parts on the car, its the drivers attitudeGotian 12-24-2006, 04:09 AM Well i was driving from walmart in my RX-8 with a friend as my passenger for the evening when a '03 GLI comes up next to us at a red. he starts revving at me showing me his CAI and BOV. I look at my friend and im like "WTF is wrong with this guy?" He launches his car screeching his tires and i just go normally not paying any attention. I ask my friend "doesnt he know better than to race on kendall? When the cop station is right next to us?" As the GLI continues down he throws his hazards on me. I laugh at him and flash my headlights at him while I give him the finger. He slows down and turns off kendall going right which is where I'm headed aswell. So he starts revving at me again and I figure this guy isnt going to leave me alone so from a roll of about 40 in 2nd gear we take off, Instantly i put half a car on him, we continue and i redline the car to about 9300 and shift to 3rd. As i reach 9300 again in 3rd now going about 97 I have almost a full car on him and as I shift into 4th he drops back to about a car and a half, which is where I let off the gas. I now have more than 2 cars on him and I throw my hazards on him. My friend and I were laughing at him as we got into the left lane to turn when the next light turned green. The guy in the GLI gave me a look trying to act hard and he kept revving the car, we couldnt stop laughing at the ricer guy. I asked my friend if i should tell him I own a 1.8t myself and that it would smoke the crap out of his. We turned our way but continued our laugher as we went on our business, Man, people like that give other people a bad name. ec437 12-24-2006, 04:13 AM blah blah blah walmart blah blah I think I found your problem.:icon16: Gotian 12-24-2006, 07:22 AM I think I found your problem.:icon16: I dont get it. TheStang00 12-24-2006, 09:16 AM walmart attracts retards. every time i go in there it reminds me of why i never go in there, thus keeping me away longer every time. jeepgclwj 12-24-2006, 10:39 AM Please, you have to tell me how it feels to take rpm's up to 9300. It has to sound and feel amazing.... 209 SRT 12-24-2006, 01:54 PM ^^^^it feels like v-tec with out the v-techhhh....hahaha Gotian 12-24-2006, 04:45 PM ^^^^it feels like v-tec with out the v-techhhh....hahaha Kinda except its not a sudden boost of power, it's continuos power all through the rpm guage, it's alot of fun to take it up that high, and it's very different than my jetta where fuel cut is at 7k Twizted_3KGT 12-24-2006, 07:11 PM walmart attracts retards. every time i go in there it reminds me of why i never go in there, thus keeping me away longer every time. YES, so true. Musashi3000GT 12-24-2006, 07:15 PM Its not like V-tec at all. we have a mutual friend who drives a 350Z grand-touring edition. hes always raving about the S2000 so I finally figured why not give one a try and asked a co-worker to let me try his out. the V-tec or V-tek or whatever it is is like wierd. Its like they dilliberetly made the car slow but added a little ummph at the top end so that you dont complain about absolute lack of power. Ive never driven a honda before so I imagine all Vtec cars are the same. if so then honda owners got ripped a good one. The car is sooooooooooo slow but then as you get into the top you feel it sort of pick up and then WHAM big burst of power (what it should of been doing all along!) and then just as quick as you get into it you gotta shift and then its all gone and you gotta wait for it to build up again to feel a little enjoyment.....its like jerking off! fun for a bit then you gotta wait till you can do it again. He said I was driving it wrong and that im "supposed to keep it in v-tec" uhhhhh, why didnt the engineers just make it fast throughout the whole rev range? the RX-8 is different cause the power builds up right around 3800-4000 rpms and holds it up all the way to redline and then after you shift you never fall off the power you just continue on progressively buildng speed. the S2000, as I understand is faster. that boggles the mind cause it feels so much slower. I guess its the weight, I dunno. 209 SRT 12-24-2006, 07:21 PM Kinda except its not a sudden boost of power, it's continuos power all through the rpm guage, it's alot of fun to take it up that high, and it's very different than my jetta where fuel cut is at 7k yeah basically v-tec without the v-tec......its fun to have a high rev limit.....my cars limited at 6000rpm but my bike on the other hand is a screamer..... BP2K2Max 12-24-2006, 07:50 PM Please, you have to tell me how it feels to take rpm's up to 9300. It has to sound and feel amazing.... ever rev a motor to 16,000?:naughty: Chiquae07 12-24-2006, 11:00 PM isn't that a big reason why the 1st or second mod a honda person gets if their engine has vtec, is a vtec controller? enguage it earlier and get the 'boost' earlier? ive been driving my cousin's integra ls and its really nice to have the car go all the way up to 7200, which is about 400 more than what i can go in the sentra. it makes a big difference. i could only imagine going up to 8k. that would be sweet. now 9300, i want to feel that. VR43000GT 12-24-2006, 11:14 PM ever rev a motor to 16,000?:naughty: Yep :grinyes: Morphius289 12-25-2006, 01:54 AM The highest I've revved to is only 6,000rpms. I feel so inexperienced :( Gotian 12-25-2006, 03:14 AM isn't that a big reason why the 1st or second mod a honda person gets if their engine has vtec, is a vtec controller? enguage it earlier and get the 'boost' earlier? ive been driving my cousin's integra ls and its really nice to have the car go all the way up to 7200, which is about 400 more than what i can go in the sentra. it makes a big difference. i could only imagine going up to 8k. that would be sweet. now 9300, i want to feel that. yeah they do get the vtec controller to kick in the vtec earlier but it still isnt anything like a continuos climb you get in any other car, you still feel the vtec lag. also when you come down to miami you can gross off going to 9300 from your list. TheStang00 12-25-2006, 03:29 AM i hate you guys. i redline at 5300... o well people that mod the 3.8 do raise it to around 6k sometimes. because it still makes good power there. - merry Christmas. eps 12-25-2006, 08:48 AM I'm doing 8.3k rpm. :grinyes: ec437 12-26-2006, 03:31 PM walmart attracts retards. every time i go in there it reminds me of why i never go in there, thus keeping me away longer every time. DING! We have a winner.:) Morphius289 12-27-2006, 10:41 PM :( I like Wal-mart. cheap = less money spent = more money to fix my car. VR43000GT 12-28-2006, 03:09 AM :( I like Wal-mart. cheap = less money spent = more money to fix my car. It takes someone special to break a SOHC 6G72 as much as you do. Gotian 12-28-2006, 09:09 AM :( I like Wal-mart. cheap = less money spent = more money to fix my car. :iamwithst Chiquae07 12-28-2006, 01:15 PM wal-mart over charges on a lot of things...... Gotian 12-28-2006, 01:33 PM wal-mart over charges on a lot of things...... your walmart sucks then -The Stig- 12-28-2006, 04:17 PM haha Wal-Mart... hahahha... yayy. Mad_Maxima 12-29-2006, 09:54 AM Always Low Prices! Always. Gotian 12-29-2006, 11:08 AM Always Low Prices! Always. rollin, rollin, rollin keep those prices rollin rollin rollin rollin roll back! Chiquae07 12-29-2006, 02:35 PM i guess you can say that about my walmart then. but i guess it's the stores surrounding it that cause the price rise. i got walmart, target, and kmart all within about a mile or each other. if walmart is high than target or kmart will have it cheaper. don't ask me why lol. and dont ask me why i was busy tapping price signs while in there. i said i wanted the prices to roll back. beef_bourito 12-30-2006, 02:02 AM He said I was driving it wrong and that im "supposed to keep it in v-tec" uhhhhh, why didnt the engineers just make it fast throughout the whole rev range? better fuel economy when you're off vtec? so that you can have good fuel economy when you're driving normally but power when you drive fast. when did it kick in? i like wall mart with my dads truck. it's got a black hard plastic bumper, no chrome that can be chipped by shopping karts. so after getting stuff for cheap if i'm driving my dads truck i might have fun ramming karts.... it's retared i know but i get really really bored sometimes. blackstang04 12-30-2006, 10:10 PM i hate you guys. i redline at 5300... o well people that mod the 3.8 do raise it to around 6k sometimes. because it still makes good power there. - merry Christmas. hehe, mine redlines at 6k now. :grinyes: Nice kill Kris. TheStang00 01-01-2007, 04:02 AM wal mart does overcharge on some things. they stick really cheap things in the isle to draw you in. but when you get into the store some the prices go up more. turtlecrxsi 01-05-2007, 02:12 PM isn't that a big reason why the 1st or second mod a honda person gets if their engine has vtec, is a vtec controller? enguage it earlier and get the 'boost' earlier? ive been driving my cousin's integra ls and its really nice to have the car go all the way up to 7200, which is about 400 more than what i can go in the sentra. it makes a big difference. i could only imagine going up to 8k. that would be sweet. now 9300, i want to feel that. Actually, I've heard that adding a vtec controller to kick in vtec earlier will just screw up the engine management if not tuned properly. My crx redlined at 7200 with the stock pm6 ecu with no vtec. With the mods I had the power seemed to start around 3000rpms and with 4.11 final drive and tight gearing it was fun to drive. I'll be the first to admit though that it was still slow and lacked in the top end. Oh yeah, nice killing of the ricer, Kris! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
