I just did some looking up on this Redline. I know its a Saturn but its pretty bad ass. This article says they underated it at 200 hp 149 lb. ft. They dynoed it and got 197/169 stock....That is pretty impressive for a Saturn. Looks like they did some homework making this car...

I test drove both back when I was doing the articles for the forum. The Redline has Recaro bucket seats and a much more fancy interior. Its also lighter then the Cobalt, its enough to run it out in the auto X and the track.
I said that I would really like the Redline if I was 35 years old and had settled down enough to not need a sports car. The Cobalt was such a dog that I didnt even bother to write about it cause it was just too boring,

Its just so mean with only a pulley and fuel management.

Plus Jin is asian so thats instant 20+whp.

Actually Mushashi, no one knows why, but the Cobalt SS actually pumps out more ponies then the Ion Redline. Take a look at Jayson's dyno numbers compared to the other dyno that you saw for a Redline. You'll see what I mean.

My friends Ion Redline ran a 14.6, I think stock...or 14.8 iono but hes fat too soo if it was a lighter driver the outcome would be diff lol

it is 50/50 but because he is japanese it becomes 100/100 so it will always have balance no matter what happens.

redlines are nice, i was going to get one instead of the cobalt, but the one i wanted was sold.

They are identical to the cobalt engine and transmission wise, interior is different and the ion weighs a few pounds more due to the extra doors. I have the recaro bucket seats in my cobalt, it was an option for all the 2.0 LSJ engines, G85 package, came with the seats and an LSD for 1500 bucks, really worth it.

My friend has a cobalt ss s/c with the G85 Package. Love the seats.. it's real nice. He has the intense motorsports stage IV kit with the 2.5" pulley, cobalt addiction 3" intake, zzp tubular header, zzp 3" non-cat downpipe, and 3" exhaust.. it's pretty quick! He was putting down 275whp before the header/downpipe/exhaust.
