Fuel pressure regulator under warranty?

Well at 76k on my 2000 Amigo 3.2 (orginal owner) the fuel pressure regulator has died.

Cold starts are fine. Warm starts it does the normal jump to 1000 rpm but then it drops to 0 and sometimes dies or stumbles. If I tap the gas at startup I have no real issues.

Fuel filter has under 2000 on it. And it has been doing this for about a week now.

So before I call to see what is cost to replace I thought I would check here to see if any knows if this is covered by the 10yr 120k warranty?

Yup it is.

It tossed a CEL today (0174 and 0175). I called the dealer to set up a time and it is under fuel pressure regulator is under warranty (assuming that is my problem)

I also updated my 0-75k maintance sheet:

My car often stumbles when I back it into the garage and put it into park. Once or twice its actually shut itself off after putting in park but usually it just drops real low and recovers. I wonder if this could be the problem?

Sounds the same thing here, mine has shut off twice after I have put it in park in the past 2 weeks.

I just got the report. It was the intake manifold gasket (again, I had it replaced at 54k and now again at 76K).

The scary part is that they said the anti-freeze reserve tank was bone dry......

I flushed it myself 2 months ago and no less then 2 weeks ago I added about 1 cup to it to keep it in the middle of the hot-cold mark...

So I'll have to watch that now .......

amigo that is not unusual mileage for and img. i had one go at less mileage than you? mike

my over flow is always low to but since it is an overflow i don't pay to much attention. my radiator is always full and never is low. i fiqure i will freak if the radiator is habitually showing low.

They also said the gasket on my radiator cap was pretty beat-up and that they would replace the cap too with an aftermarket one.

I'll have to pull the dipstick and see if there is any water in the oil when I get it back tonight......

I had my IMG done at about 75k and now im at 135k. I guess that could be my problem also. Is there no replacement IMG that wont fall apart as easily as the OEM gaskets?

I think they came out with a new gasket a couple years back and they have changed the torque specs like 3 times in the last 5 years ....

here is what the dealership wrote down:

c/s check engine light comes on truck runs rough kills at idle check and advise 35/01a401/1.6 found codes P0171, P0174, P0300. Checked for intake leaks with carb cleaner. found intake gaskets leaking replaced intake gaskets. cleared codes.

it's odd that I came up with different codes then the dealer ....

it's odd that I came up with different codes then the dealer ....

it is...but theirs are more consistent with the problem -- lean both banks and random missfires

....while yours -- both lean and rich in one bank -- sounds like a reader (instrument not you) error

Well 1 tank of gas later after a new intake manifold gasket and I'm up 2 MPG and the water level has not moved....
