wheel spacers on s10 blazer

I was thinking about putting wheel spacers on my s10 blazer

I was wondering if there is any hurt in putting around a 2-2.5 inch wheel spacers on my blazer without putting wider tires on it. I have brand new 235/75/R15 with very aggressive tread (around $600) that i would like to get more use out of before putting the really wide tires on that i actual need the spacers for. I was just wondering if this is ok to run the spacers with the stock tire size.

I have been running 1.5 spacers on my S-10 Crew for about a year with no problem. I'm on 235/75/r15s.
