04 cav coupe, 05 cobalt coupe?Cold_Silence 12-19-2006, 10:49 AM Hey guys, going in today to my gf's work she works at a dealership. I seen 2 cars i liked and her dad could get close to cost on them. One is a trade in, arrival blue 2 door 2004 cavalier 2.2 eco manual tranny, with a whopping 36,000km's!! She is still a baby. The other is a 2005 cobalt white 2 door auto, with 46,000km's. I would like to keep one of these two cars for a long time and upgrade them to make em quick, you know just for the occasional race etc. There ASKING $10,997 CA for the cavalier, which her dad thinks he can get it down to 10 or less, OR a SALE on the cobalt original $18,900 CA on sale for $12,900 CA. The cobalt obviously has a better price but he wouldnt be able to chop them down as much because it is already on sale. Do you think these would be a good deal? Im going to check them out today. Can that 2.2 eco take alot? I want a solid engine that i can upgrade and keep for years. Thanks alot! Derk_eliso 12-19-2006, 02:54 PM I'd go with the 04 cavy, I love that engine, dohc isn't it? Plus I like the front end in the 03 and up :) Lances133 12-19-2006, 02:58 PM Toss up, I say it's whatever one you like more appearence wise. my99cavy 12-19-2006, 07:23 PM go with the cobalt man. PsychoJJ 12-19-2006, 08:41 PM Go with the 04. Any cobalt that isnt an SS is just a led turd on wheels. Cold_Silence 12-19-2006, 11:29 PM I got the 04 Cavalier!! I got it for 10k CA on those nose with everything, thats with taxes and bs. I gots a real good deal, he chopped him down a lot. Ive always wanted a eco 2 speed :D You can count on me to deck her out. I get to pick it up tommorow! Woot! I will snap some pics tommorow or whenever and show u what shes got. Im super pumped, 2004 with 36,000 km's. What are some common mods to do first off on an eco? Yeah ive seen the thread but i want POV's Cold_Silence 12-19-2006, 11:33 PM Anyone want my old one? Its for sale :) 3 Speed 96, 237k :) PsychoJJ 12-19-2006, 11:38 PM Congrats. But no, seriously go check the thread again. Most things stated mostly by some of us more pradominent members wouldnt steer anyone wrong on some parts or mods unless its for the speed limiter. I know for a fact that there are many threads I have spewed my half hearted words of wisdom on good cheap mods for the eco and Im sure there are others. Just pop onto the search and go for a wihrl. Lances133 12-20-2006, 12:18 AM Is it the base model? Cold_Silence 12-20-2006, 06:57 PM Shitty!!!!!!!! Couldnt get financed cuase i have no beacon score for credit. Kicker is im only short $1000!!!! I got a credit card TODAY and im building up some credit and going back in a couple months and getting myself an eco. Im so freaking bummed, it is exactly what i wanted, dark blue coupe 04 5 speed. ARGH! At least i know i want one of these, them are mean suckers i tell ya! Lances133 12-20-2006, 07:40 PM :( good luck to ya Derk_eliso 12-20-2006, 08:43 PM go back to the dealership tell them about it and how your 1000 bucks short, maybe they'll cut you a deal? lol Cold_Silence 12-21-2006, 02:13 PM Lol no, i already got my gfs dad who used to work there and is buds with like everyone there to get the lowest deal possible. Salesman would make 96 bucks on the car. LOL :( Im sad tho, oh well.. Young Chuck D 12-29-2006, 11:26 PM give them half to hold the car for you and save up a few paychecks... or ask gf's daddy to front you a G... i don't see where there would be a problem here, make it work vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
