While checking manuals on procedures to remove the half-shaft on my Buick I see it says you need a "slide-hammer" on '90 and up models. Previously a pry bar seems to do the trick. I don't see why it shouldn't work on the '90 unless they changed something and made it a tighter fit etc. Anbody changed one out on '90 and up let me know. Will my crow bar work to remove or do I need to try a find this slide-hammer tool? Thanks

Do you mean using it between the inner joint and the final drive housing, if so, it's a go.

I assume you are asking about the drive axle connection to the transmission. I recently removed and rebuilt the transmission on my 93. I was able to remove both the left and right side drive axles from the transmission just by gently prying. It was not really difficult to do. My service manual also shows a slide hammer being used but apparently it's not absolutely required.
