Perf Shift Light Quitthe.dude 12-12-2006, 11:17 PM My PERF SHIFT light on the dash no longer turns on and off with the switch on the shifter. I cannot tell if the system still goes on and off or if it's just the light quit. Anyone have suggestions on where to start? I know there is a difference, but I keep second guessing myself w/o the light. BNaylor 12-13-2006, 07:42 AM Hopefully it is just a burned out lamp at the IP. You should be able to tell when you are in Performance Shift. That will be important to check out because it will be the difference of having just to replace the lamp or other problems like possibly a bad Performance Shift button on the shifter, wiring or PCM module problems. Lamp GM part number is 16151234, Lamp Inst, $4.73. the.dude 12-13-2006, 08:52 AM how difficult is it to change that bulb? BNaylor 12-13-2006, 09:02 AM You'll have to do disassembly of the dash to get to the backside of the IP cluster. The bulb is in a socket that will twist off for replacement. See procedure below up to around step #5. Sorry but please check the date and do not resurrect old threads. Just start a new post addressing your question or issue and someone will help. Thread closed. Also, do a search on " performance shift" because we have old threads addressing a similar issue but don't reply in them if over 3 months old. :grinno: Thanks. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
