Knocking when turning, please helpRobin84 12-10-2006, 01:15 AM :uhoh: About two weeks ago, 95 Cherokee started making knocking, crunchy noise when turning left or right. Doesn't do it when going straight. Talked to a fellow Cherokee owner, he said it sounded like wheel bearings to him. Anyone have any ideas? Also, I am a woman scared to take it to shop without any info, because they will definately see me coming and no telling what they will tell me.:frown: AlohaBra 12-10-2006, 02:06 PM Which side? Pin it down to the side you want inspected and you will be better off. See if they can diagnose it with out you telling them (to see if they are telling the truth). Get two opinions. Having said that, look at some other posts here, like this one.... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=601615 Robin84 12-10-2006, 05:32 PM Both sides do it. AlohaBra 12-10-2006, 05:52 PM Probably not wheel bearings then. Look at the track bar or steering linkage joints. Try a tire and alignment shop. swilt 12-23-2006, 08:03 AM I assume it is 4WD. If so, replace the u-joints. Mine did the same thing till I replaced the u-joints. Scrapper 12-23-2006, 08:28 AM yes check u joints and bearings..... AlohaBra 12-23-2006, 12:12 PM Haven't heard back from Robin...wonder what she found... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
