Can IAC fault cause emission warning lightJCWindstar 12-09-2006, 10:54 PM on a 2001 Windstar, would a faulty IAC valve cause the emissions warning light to come on? I have been having trouble with the idle when the temperature is below 30 F so was instruct to clean the IAC valve. Did so, then the emmision warning light (the little yellow engine icon) came on about 2 miles later. Would this be caused by the IAC? (I currently do not have a rader for the codes so am working "blind"). busboy4 12-10-2006, 04:04 PM on a 2001 Windstar, would a faulty IAC valve cause the emissions warning light to come on? However, there are many, many codes that will trip the "check engine" light. Try and have the code read at an Autozone or similar store. They will do so for free. Then post back what you learn. catvents 12-10-2006, 11:56 PM on a 2001 Windstar, would a faulty IAC valve cause the emissions warning light to come on? The cleaning has fixed the problem but the the light goes on a little while after. I do not have a OBDII scanner to check the code (maybe for chrismas:):):) but I have disconnect the battery ( not recommanded I know) to erease the code and turn off the light. So far, after about 250 miles the warning light did not glow so I think it was related o the IAC. Will see if it remain off. JCWindstar 12-11-2006, 08:38 PM The fault was from the IAC valve. Replaced it today and reset the engine light. All seems to be working. THANK YOU for the posts -- very helpful! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
