We'll ok so i was backing up out of this drive way and for sum reason i started to hear this loud cluncking noise comming from the front end of my truck. although it only makes that sound while im in 4wheel drive i tryed it going forward and it makes the same exact sound, i was told it may be my cv shafts, but im not sure so i am going to be taking it in for a good check around and hopfully the problem will be found, is there anyone here that may have alittle info about my issue and possibly a solution?

Thanks

With out crawling under the truck and giving it a good shake down there is no way to tell. You could try having someone stand out side the truck as you back up or pull forward to see if you can see where the sound is coming from.

From what i was told by my mechanic, my front differential is bad. He said that the gearing inside of it is extreamly loose and that for now just to take it easy and change it when i have the money, Also he told me there is no actual time frame that i could have to know exactly when it will completely go and to just listen to the diff as i shift into 4x4 and take it easy. I am not completely sure of the name of the piece that is going bad but if i can find out i will tell you immediatly, all i know is that it connects the left side of the front end so that it engages. If you know then mayb you will understand this alittle more otherwise i am sorry that everything is alittle confusing , because i am just a novious at the mechanic position.

-Will keep your updated..
