Have 91 Sonoma 2.5 . Recently had engine replaced. Everything works great, but now the parking brake light will not go out. When I release pb the light acts like it is going out but only dims a little then stays on. Any ideas why?

check your brake fluid level, it's also a sign that your brake pads need replacing.

Brake fluid o.k..,not showing signs of fluid loss by pads wearing out. But when it warms up a little I will pull wheels and check.

Does it have RWAL(rear wheel anti-lock), its a black module/box loated right beside the master cylinder under the hood. If you have RWAL, unplug both the upper and lower harness to it. Start the truck and check the light now. If its out now, your module is not functioning properly. Sometimes unplugging it waiting a few minutes and plugging it in again will solve the problem, other times the only solution is to replace it.

Failed to tell that engine temp guage does not work either. Changed sending unit, still not work. Cant help but think thah the two problems are interconnected somehow. Maybe a missing ground or something. Problem is that all else seems to work. Pulling hair, if I had any.!!
