Quick run with an rsxTorchedStealth 12-05-2006, 05:07 PM I was picking my brother up from school today about a half hour ago and as i was leaving i saw my friend who has an rsx (non-type-s). He let me out of the parking lot and we turned on the 4 lane road and he pulled up next to me and i knew what he wanted. I told him to slow down to about 27 (so my car will drop to 1st) so he does and i signaled 3-2-1 and we hit it. He got an early jump cause he is manual and im auto and he pulled on me. 50 came and my car shifted to 2nd with him about 2 cars ahead, i soon matched his speed but we had to shut down at 65 with him 2 cars ahead (this was all in a 35). He knows he would have got beat if i would have been able to fully use my 2nd gear but we just did it for fun. I know its not much of a race but its the most worthy opponent ive had lately. For those not fimiliar with the auto 3/S gearing, here is about how long the gears are: 1st: 50 mph 2nd: 85-90 mph 3rd: 130 mph 4th: OD so its geared to about 210 mph to save gas but it wont go anywhere near that fast. So you can see why its not a very good car for short slow races:uhoh: VR43000GT 12-05-2006, 11:08 PM Good race. Yeah I think you would have had him if you could have finished of second. Glad to here you are still getting in some races. Morphius289 12-06-2006, 02:11 AM But...but...he has hp-weight. A...aa....and your car weighs a lot more, and doesn't have that much more horsepower.....I'm so confused! By the way, I could have sworn you drove a TT...doh! Nice semi-kill ;) TorchedStealth 12-06-2006, 04:50 PM I dont know what an rsx weighs but i have 60 more hp than him, i consider that to be a fair amount. always8krpm 12-08-2006, 12:56 PM Granted your 60 horsepower ahead, those rsx's weigh less than 3k lb. Power to weight is probably pretty close, but your gearing definitly puts you in the lead. Type S's are another story though... 209 SRT 12-08-2006, 07:54 PM what do you run in the 1320.....do you think your in the low 16s to high 15s... 98BlackTransAm 12-08-2006, 10:47 PM Type S's are another story though...:rofl: GForce957 12-09-2006, 04:00 AM :rofl: For him they are... TorchedStealth 12-09-2006, 11:12 AM what do you run in the 1320.....do you think your in the low 16s to high 15s... Yeah the autos are in the mid-low 16's, but the manuals are in the low 15's, i would say us auto guys got screwed lol. 209 SRT 12-09-2006, 04:38 PM its what I thought......good run none the less.....but I wouldnt underestamate the k20....a car that is a 4cyl pushing out 200hp n/a is pretty good in my book....capable of high to mid 14s and gets good gas mil while lasting a good 200 grand +..... Mad_Maxima 12-09-2006, 05:47 PM he raced a base model, not the type S 97SLGT 12-09-2006, 08:30 PM Base mtx are like high 15s low 16s...well don't bother racing the Type-S:grinno: 209 SRT 12-10-2006, 04:26 AM he raced a base model, not the type S I know...just replying to the type s comments...
