Spec2 Girl 09-18-2002, 12:47 AM :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: OUCH!!!!! :eek2: Poor car!!! :( -The Stig- 09-18-2002, 12:54 AM aww your poor baby... :( Grendel 09-18-2002, 12:56 AM :( Did you get to salvage anything from it? The turbo/intercooler perhaps? I didn't think the damage was that bad from your description of the accident... Your really lucky to be ok :) -Grendel TerminalVelocity 09-18-2002, 01:00 AM I see it now ouch/.... Neutrino 09-18-2002, 01:13 AM Originally posted by Spec2 Girl :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: OUCH!!!!! :eek2: Poor car!!! :( Ouch poor Polygon and me. I was on the passenger seat. My ribs still hurt a little bit 3 weeks later. And me and poly were walking like 90 year olds for the first week. Oh and trust me nothing could be salvaged. beside the kenwood that is. kidrocket 09-18-2002, 01:38 AM what the hell happened? I liked that car.... Polygon 09-18-2002, 02:23 AM Yeah, everything under the hood is pretty much toast. As for what traspired. Neutrino and I were headed towards a green light at about 45MPH when some stupid punk made a left turn in front of me going about 10MPH. He made the turn like 20 feet from us and I had no way to stop or move. I went head on into him, his excuse was that he didn't see me. Neutrino 09-18-2002, 02:47 AM Sorry for the double post. I don't know what happned. And I cannot delete one of them. kidrocket 09-18-2002, 12:04 PM so i assume it was that dumbasses fault? Polygon 09-18-2002, 12:40 PM Yeah, most definitely. They even fined him $1500 bucks. It was funny because he told the cop that he couldn't see me. The officer then looks at my car and then looks back at him and says how can you miss that?!? Rolls his eyes and then tells him about his hefty fine. :D kidrocket 09-18-2002, 01:04 PM at least theyll think twice before pulling that shit again Polygon 09-18-2002, 03:58 PM Yeah, one can only hope. I have seen this same kind of accident four times before it happened to me, and Neutrino was almost in one about a week after we got in this one. Drivers in the state of Utah for the most part are rude or beyond stupid, they should be riding the bus. RACER D12 09-19-2002, 08:38 AM So what happened with insur they cover you? somone told me if insurance finds out you have been moding your car they wont cover you or they will jack up insurance this true? :badass: Polygon 09-19-2002, 11:53 AM Only if it is a major mod like forced induction, and even some insurance companies don't care about that. I would tell them though so that they can't say they didn't know about it and decide not to cover you. Speaking of whic, his insurace made an offer on my car yesterday. They offered me $1,050 dollars. That isn't even the low book on my car. The low book is close to $2,000 and the high book is $3,900. After all the money I have invested in this car I am looking at getting about $7,000 with the new head, centerforce clutch, rims, new tires, and my damn Iridium spark plugs that I wanted to get out. Assholes, I'm not put up with this shit. Grendel 09-19-2002, 03:42 PM Originally posted by Polygon Speaking of whic, his insurace made an offer on my car yesterday. They offered me $1,050 dollars. Tell the judge all the money you put into it, and make those people pay :D -Grendel crunchymilk49 09-19-2002, 08:51 PM man im so sorry about your car poly but take their dumbasses to court...you should win and get whatever amount of money the judge thinks is reasonable no 1000 isnt reasonable SilverLotus340R 11-11-2002, 08:59 PM i was just browsing through old threads and rememberd about polys car but never saw the pics as you said about the cop telling the punk ...how could u miss that... a friend of mines brother had a bright orange mr2 spyder that was all modded and shit and he was cruising and came to an intersection and went throught it and got t boned by a xterra..when the cops came the guy had said " i didnt see anything coming so i pulled out" and the cop said " you couldnt see a bright orange car coming at you" and then later on the insurance company for the other guy searched his car and found a camera with pics of the mr2 coming...my friends bro got a new mr2 and a used supra outta it... Polygon 11-12-2002, 11:21 AM Holy crap! That is pretty sweet. I am unfortunately still fighting with his insurance to get what my car is worth. They are only offering my $2,000. I recently had it appraised at between $5,000 and $7,000. I am just waiting for that to come in the mail. I am going to show it to his insurance and if they give me what I want then well call it even. If they don't then we are off to court and chances are I will win with all the information I have. Too bad I can't get another GTC out of the deal, ah well, as my signature says, I will have another, oh yes I will. :D SilverLotus340R 11-12-2002, 04:28 PM good luck...im guessing if u had it appraised that would be enough to prove its worth more than what they want to give u carrrnuttt 11-12-2002, 08:06 PM Originally posted by Neutrino Sorry for the double post. Took care of it. student_anonymous 11-22-2002, 12:54 PM Hey, i know this post is coming late considering when the thread was posted, but i just now saw it and have information for you. Take that appraisal slip and highlight the quoted price of the vehicle. When you do that, and show it to them, they'll jump and instantly begin offering you a better settlement. This is because of two things. First, you can ask for the top price of the appraisal in court, and you'll get it. Second, you can enter a second claim for the statutory maximum in your state for damages due to this happening, which means you can squeeze anywhere from 3 to 5 grand more from them for pain and suffering, lost wages, inconvenience, etc. Second, if the court judge doesn't award you those damages there, you can go to small claims court and collect the damages pay there. I hope this comes in time for you Polygon, and if you have any questions post something in one of MY threads where i'll see it sooner. Good luck to you man. :sun: R1-rider 11-23-2002, 01:18 AM just noticed that in the picture the tach is stuck... lolz Polygon 11-24-2002, 12:05 PM Yeah student, I have faxed that appraisal to them and they said they want to offer me what the car is worth but they question the information I have given them, so I am going to give them the number I called at Chrysler to get my information and they can call them and find out for themselves. If they don't I know we can take them to court and with all the info we have they wouldn't stand a chance. :) As for the tach, its not stuck, the engine was running at 4000RPM. :D j/k student_anonymous 11-26-2002, 04:00 PM Hehe, glad it's been of help to you man. I've been looking around for prices on getting another GTC...not many around but those that are are selling for cheap here in Canada...saw one the other day in the bargain finder for 1500 Canadian...good shape too from what i could see. It's a thought...you may end up having to do a shit-load more to the car to get it to where yours was, but it's a good starting point. Polygon 11-27-2002, 01:59 PM Well, if you can find a hardtop with a manual, that is what I am looking for, only problem is getting out there to look at it and then get it home. student_anonymous 11-28-2002, 10:27 AM That one WAS a hardtop manual...lost the paper though. I'll keep checkin the bargain finder online, and if i find something i'll post it. http://www.bargainfinder.com/ That's where to go if you want to check out cars...it's popular in the states as well as here, and you can get as specific as your particular city too. :) Dramier 12-01-2002, 11:33 AM I'm glad to hear you're ok Poly, and my condolences on your loss. I have alot of respect for folks driving/modding "non-standard" cars. I hope you find another one to replace it, and stay safe bro. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
