Where is the heater core in a 92 PA

Like the title says, I have a 92 PA in which the heater core has sprung a leak. I need to know where it is and how to change it (i.e through the dash or throught the firewall). I don't have a repair manual, but my experience with them isn't pleasant as they are usually limited help on topics like this. Thanks in advance.

If you plan o do a lot of work you might want to buy the Helms Factory Service Manual. They are the manuals that you get by ordering from GM on the backpage of the owners manual. I think they're on sale till December 31, 2006, at half price; about $53. Very thorough, I have bought them for almost every new car I buy. http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp?Style=&Mfg=GMC&Make=BUI&Model=PARK&Year=1992&Category=&Keyword=&Module=&selected%5Fmedia=&mscsid=RVU4QMN4QGC69JNLENKRX5SJGL2TBSWF

Assuming the 92 PA is like the 93PA and LeSabre--I have the 93 book and PA and leSabre are in the same book--so I hope these pictures help.

This requires taking off the hush panel under the dash, and then removing the glove box by undoing screws at hinge. The pictures have the whole dash missing but they show the construction. The end of the heater box is held on by two screws at the front and sealer. The two tubes go through the firewall and the heater hoses have to undone from under the hood.

You'll do a lot of tearing through the dash. It's on the passenger side, and you can see exacly where and how it is mounted in the pics imidazol97 provided. Working on and off, it took me 2 days to finish the job. It was either 30 dollars for the heater core and do it myself, or over 250 dollars at the shop. Though it was a tedious job, I'm glad I did it myself.

Did you take out more than the hush panel and the glovebox door to access it?

Hey thanks for the help guys. I'll probably just take it to the shop as I don't feel like messing with it right now. But if I do decide to do it myself I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
