Faith in Dodge

After today, I have a new found faith in my Dodge RamCharger. I beat the hell out of that thing and nothing happened to it. The thing is an absolute beast.

So far...I'm still a Chevy guy at heart.

Yeah I hear that.

In what way did you beat the hell out of it? I've been taught and I've learned 1st hand that chrysler/dodge is crap, more so as the years go on. Currently I own the first dodge and last chrysler I'll ever own. I bought it used in nice condition with low miles but within two weeks of owning it I've already run into alot issues to fix, one being the infamous crack in the dash (how lovely it happens, not even, a couple of weeks after I take delivery and not before). Now everytime I look at my dodge I think only two things: god I hate it, and I really wanna get rid of it. I'm glad you have faith though cuse obviously I don't, I'll become a believer when chrysler goes out of business or when I get rid of the truck without having to pay to get rid of it.

For the mean time anyone know where to get replacement dashes for Ram's?

That's really strange, because I keep hearing about these dashes cracking left and right and I've yet to see a local truck with one. What year is your truck?

I know where you're coming from though. Over the past few months I've really begun to get sick of my trucks. I basically poured money into my '97 in an effort to get it to run right and it still doesn't, so it sits. My '99 isn't bad but it's got its bugs. I bought an '85 GMC half ton a few weeks ago and I think it's a way better truck than either of my Dodge trucks. I love the Mopar muscle cars though, and I will always be loyal to them.

I wouldn't buy another 94-01 Dodge, but I would buy an '85 or an '86 Royal SE if I could find one. Those old trucks couldn't seem to be broken. I hope to have a truck like that by summertime.

Well, First, I went tearing through a field that was bumpy as hell and everything stayed in place. Then took it through a really rought two-track. Snowy roads are fun! Its just beastly. Sorry to hear about your bad luck though. I think that Chrysler is actually improving because of the merger, that German car company, can't remember at the moment. I have STRONG faith in German engineering. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porche...Those are all German, right? I think so. lol. Yea, love em.

You have an '88 Oldsmobile as well?

12-05-2006, 05:04 PM
Yep I do. She's my summer baby. I've got a lot of money invested into it. New paint, new running parts, tires, sunroof (Which looks good in it). Probably one of the better american cars made in teh 90's, if not the best car of the 90's. And the 3800 engine...priceless.

A Cutlass or something?

12-06-2006, 02:13 PM
No no no...Its a '94 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight. I wish it was an 88 Cutlass though...NICE cars. lol. But yea, I like the Eighty-Eights too, they are loaded.

12-06-2006, 04:30 PM
Yeah I was just going by your username, it has an '88 in it.

12-06-2006, 10:51 PM
Yea...its the year I was born (I'm old as hell, I know) and my car, sort of a double meaning.

I feel old too.

just about lost faith in the newer dodge motors after buying a 1994 dodge ram , did want it for a daily driver but from how things have started off i think it will be more of a money pit. and yes the dash is cracked and i live in the uk so it isnt because of all the hot weather we get , lol , still a ford and chevy man at heart , going of dodge fast

not being a cheap skate saying a 1994 ram is a newer dodge its just that in the uk a ram that year is worth about 5500 sterling so about 10,000 dollars . i know that everyone over the water must think thats crazy.

i do have other american motors though , and they have never been any trouble unlike the ram.

1977 f-100 step side ( short bed ) 400m motor , 1976 f-150 fleetside 351m motor , 1979 d200 flatbed slant six . 1981 c-10 6.2 diesel 8ft bed, great to drive but has rust like most in the uk . nail of a 1994 ram 1500 . 1985 blazer in bits . just sold my 1976 chevy nova and 1969 bronco to buy the ram and what a mistake.
