1997 error code P0300 and P1122

Hello,
yesterday the SES in my 97 Monte Carlo came on and I have error codes P0300 and P1122. In fast accelerations the car splutters a little bit and the SES starts to blink. All other driving conditions (steady state, idle,...) are fine.

My question is: Can P1122 (Throttle Position Sensor Circuit Low Voltage) cause P0300 (Engine misfire) ?? and when yes what to do??

Thanks!
Jo

Welcome to AF. It is possible a bad tps can cause the engine to stumble. Normally 0300 will not set with a tps code existing, target that first (the tps issue)

I agree with Max, start by fixing the TPS issue, as random mis-fire codes are usually caused by other problems.

Yes, you were right. New TPS is installed and 0300 still there...:banghead:
Then I will start with all the other stuff that I read about 0300: new fuel, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition cable, MAF, etc etc etc. I hope it's not a never ending story...

Thanks for your answers!

Clear the code it may not come back, do you still feel a miss?

IF it's been a while since it's been tuned up, it won't hurt anything to do your routine maintenance. As Max stated, if you don't feel a miss, it may go away after a few days on it's own if money is tight with Christmas on the way.
