Anybody know why this happens?J SPEC SilEighty 09-16-2002, 03:42 PM Anybody know why the rear bumper on the Pearl White S14's seems to discolor and turn sort of brown? I've seen numerous pictures with this and I noticed the other day that it looks like mine is a little discolored. TatII I know that you have a white 240, is yours still the same color as the rest of the car or has it changed at all? Here are some pics of what I'm talking about...... http://omoi.net/images/camera/september2002/nikko/2506-20020903-080622.jpg http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/s14/s14bfrear1.jpg and here you can see it a little bit on my car http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/68234710.jpg I have e-mailed Nissan about this asking why they discolor like that but I have yet to recieve a response and it's been awhile. Does anybody know why this happens? TatII 09-17-2002, 01:05 AM well my rear bumper was really cracked up and dented in certain spots and had paint chipping off. i had my whole car repainted to a bright white now. but from what i recalled. my car even though its a 95 hasn't faded yet. its casue my car had been repainted a few times. i could tell from the trunk and the door jambs. this was before i even repainted the car myself! lolz well my car is constantly being worked on. lolz in one way or another. and i still got nothing to show for all that hard work!! NISSANSPDR 09-17-2002, 01:09 AM No clue why...perhaps it has something to do w/all the sick horsepower they make in Japan? Exhaust fumes? the Fireballs they shoot out? Who knows... 1bad180sx 09-17-2002, 05:46 AM I believe its because the bumper is plastic and the rest of whats around it is metal. The paint on the plastic probably discolors from the heat etc... Also, none of us run catalytic converters, so that could be a big part of it. 180sx's and S13 Silvias have the same problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
